EMTT
Activating New Regenerative and Restorative Possibilities in Treatment and Rehabilitation
Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT) is a physical therapy technique that provides a non-invasive and evidence based treatment for diseases of the musculoskeletal system such as pain in the lower back, arthrosis as well as inflammation in tendons and joints. EMTT relies on the production of high-intensity magnetic field pulses to stimulate cellular responses, promoting natural healing processes in the body’s tissues.
Because EMTT enables practitioners to broaden the scope of treatment options offered to patients to address musculoskeletal disorders and tendinopathies – it’s a treatment game-changer. This transformational technology is another way to help patients get better faster without surgery, unnecessary risk, or downtime.
The Magnetolith®
Magnetolith EMTT® uses high energy magnetic fields for regeneration and rehabilitation at a cellular level. The treatment initiates an anti-inflammatory response, reducing pain and inflammation in affected areas of the body, making it perfect for patients with acute pain presentation, irritable flare ups, neuropathic pain, diffused pain and degenerative pathologies such as osteoarthritis. EMTT® is highly tolerated, even with the most painful conditions such as rheumatic patients.
During treatment painful areas of the body are treated with high-energy magnetic pulses. The effective field strength range is 10 mT (millitesla) and upward. With this pulse intensity, it is possible to achieve a therapeutic effect in the cells. The generated energy is transferred via an applicator to the body areas to be treated. The individual pulses penetrate the tissue so that even deeper tissue layers can be reached. There is no temperature increase in the tissue, due to the short duration of the individual pulses.
The system includes
Simple and intuitive touch display
Ergonomic and detachable applicator for ease of use
- Integrated equipment trolley
Flexible holding arm
Internal water-cooling system
Comprehensive in-person training
“When adding something new to my practice it has to check the right boxes: safe, evidence-based, effective, and valuable to both patients and practice outcomes. With this framework, adding EMTT was a no-brainer for my practice!
My Physical Therapist and I use it all day long and have integrated it into our treatment protocols for everything from acute sprains and strains, to surgical post-op healing, to chronic degenerative arthritis. Our patients know the Magnetolith as our Magic Wand!“
“Although we routinely use it in a multi modal approach to injury, EMTT has been extremely successful as a stand alone in our clinic.
I have 12 Physio’s and 2 sports therapists working in the clinic and if I asked them which machine (FSW, RPW and EMTT) they couldn’t do without, they all say the Magnetolith/ EMTT.
So it shows that EMTT working as a single modality, in a busy clinic treating lots of acute injuries is a game changer”
Case Study – EMTT
55 y.o. male acute left L3 sensory radiculopathy after kiteboarding injury.
MRI Confirmed foraminal HNP at left L3/4. OTC NSAIDs providing minimal relief. Patient not interested in taking steroids, GAB, etc. To date, traction and chiropractic therapy only partially helpful. Prefers to avoid spinal steroid injections.
Week 1: Wand applied to left L3-L4 level. Parameters: Power level 8/8 Hz/6000 pulses
Week 2: Identical therapy
Week 3: Sensory symptoms completely absent, and additional EMTT treatment not required.
Week 8: Patient remained asymptomatic after only 2 EMTT sessions. No other treatment had been performed since the second EMTT session and the patient has resumed full sporting activities without restrictions.
How does EMTT differ from PEMF?
EMTT® differs from general forms of electromagnetic field therapy or PEMF due to its high oscillation frequency of 100 – 300 kHz.
EMTT® is 40% stronger than PEMF and enables a higher penetration depth of 18 cm working at a cellular and nerve level rather than only addressing muscles. Sessions of EMTT® can, therefore, treat a far wider range of indications when compared to PEMF.
‘Touch free’ treatment
Thanks to the articulated arm, EMTT® is a ‘touch-free’ treatment. The arm is easily positioned at any angle, patients can sit or lay down. Patients can remain in clothes throughout the treatment making it quick and easy. A typical session lasts between 5 – 20 minutes depending on the indication.
Low running costs
Magnetolith EMTT® does not require any special maintenance or technician to use and is low cost to run, providing your clinic maximum return on investment.
Reliable and long lasting equipment with water exchange needed only once every six months and applicator exchange every two years or 25 million pulses.
