gluteal tendinopathy pain

What is / was your condition?

Gluteal Tendinopathy Hip & Buttock Pain

How long have you had / did you have symptoms?

I was diagnosed with hyper-mobility in my hip joints 3 years ago, which is when I started to suffer with pain.

How did it impact your life / sport / physical activity?

My hip and buttock pain kept me awake at night, I couldn’t exercise, there was a period of about 3 weeks where I was in agony with a trapped nerve.

What other treatments did you try prior to Shockwave Therapy?

Before seeking advice from my GP I went to physio, which didn’t work, no body could give me a diagnosis, some suggested Sciatica was the cause of the pain.

How did you hear about Shockwave Therapy?

My Doctor prescribed me various pain killers, non of them touched the pain. He then offered me Tramadol, I didn’t want to take such a strong analgesia. My friend then told me about Helen How and her excellent reputation. Helen diagnosed me immediately with Gluteal Tendinopathy.

How was it during the Shockwave Therapy treatment?

I liked the feeling of the Shockwave therapy, it was quite pleasant, it massaged the muscles in the area that was causing me pain. I only felt discomfort getting into position caused by my condition.

How was it immediately after the Shockwave Therapy Treatment?

I felt a slight immediate relief following the Shockwave, it ached for a day, then by the second day my symptoms were much better.

How many sessions of Shockwave Therapy did you have?

4 sessions (2 sessions followed by a gap then another 2) plus simple single leg stand loading for 30 sec x 5 daily. I will now use Shockwave as a preventative.

How long since your last session of Shockwave Therapy?

Approximately 10 days ago

How is the condition now and how has it improved your life / sport / physical activity?

Much better! I can sleep fine and I am about to start exercising again, my general well-being has also improved.

Would you recommend Shockwave Therapy to others with this condition or similar conditions?

I would 100% recommend Shockwave Therapy for Gluteal Tendinopathy and hip and buttock pain. The cost of the treatment was very reasonable too.
